Welcome to my website. My name is Gil White, a tennis enthusiast just like you, otherwise you wouldn't be on my web site looking for a way to improve your game. I have been involved in tennis for almost 40 years starting at the late age of 13 and have had a very exciting tennis life leading up to the development of Pro Racket Plates. Even though I never made it as a professional I have won two senior Canadian national over 40 and 45 titles and have been on seven Canadian international senior teams. My passion for tennis has led me to the production of Pro Power Plates which I feel will be a tremendous asset to your game.

In 1973, at the tender age of 16, I traveled to Australia on my own to train and go to school which was then followed by California. I played some college tennis in Pensacola, Florida and then decided to backpack around the world at the age of 21. As a result of those travels I published a book called "Europe on 84c a Day" and though it is no longer in print, I have spoken to thousands of university students around the world for 22 years espousing the value of traveling as a great education and on a 84 cent budget!! I have now had the great fortune to have traveled to over 70 countries.

Naturally, my 16 year old son, Zachary White, is trying to become a tennis professional and one of those 70 countries took us to Venezuela in 2007 where Zachary and I met a firecracker of a tennis player, Columbian National coach, Jaime Cortes. Jaime had a steel concrete saw plate on his racket for warming up and grooving his ground-strokes. I liked it so much that Jaime gave me permission to make it even better. Seeing the need to cater to players from professional to beginner, I expanded that one plate to 8 plastic plates of various sizes and weights. This versatility now allows players of all different levels, male or female, young or old to attach the plates that suit their needs and strengths. Better still, the Pro Power Plates can be used on squash, badminton and racquetball rackets too!
